1977 Suzuki RM 125B

  • Sold on Bill of Sale
  • The RM mirrored the works models ridden by world champions Roger DeCoster, Joel Rober and Gaston Raheir
  • Suzuki was one of the original manufacturers, back in 1965, that decided to build the best motocross bike and create motocross in the US.
  • This started a legacy in World Championships that stunned the European makers of the day.
  • During the mid 70’s it was clear that Suzuki’s racing and production departments were working together and the RM bikes were the one’s to have.
  • Suzuki knocked off Honda from the top of the dirt bike heap with the RM 125B
  • RM stood for “racing machine” from the factory
  • The RM 125 used a case-reed valve intake, an air cooled single cylinder two-stroke engine with 26.5 hp at 10,750 rpm’s
  • Dry weight at only 194 lbs
  • 1 down and 5 up 6 speed transmission
  • Beautifully restored to exact specifications as it rolled off the showroom, this bike came with the upgraded air adjustable extra travel forks which provided a 3” additional travel and the magnesium crank for less weight, both very rare.
  • During the restoration the owner decided to install the Mikuni VM-32 bore race carburetor that was one of the race options back in the day.
  • Every part on the bike was either new old stock or original Suzuki parts from Vintage Suzuki.
  • The motor was completely taken apart, rebuilt, media blasted and then powder coated.
  • Mostly been stored in a private collection with minimal miles since restoration.
