Introduced for the 2002 model year, the Coupe was one of the cars that spearheaded Maserati’s return to the American market after a decade-long hiatus. It stood out with a muscular exterior designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of ItalDesign, a sumptuous interior commissioned to Enrico Fumia, amd a Ferrari-derived “F136R” 4.2-liter V8, rated at 390 horsepower and 333 lb-ft of torque.
This beautiful Maserati Coupe GT is finished in Grigio Touring Metallic over finest quality Grigio Medio Poltrona Frau Leather, with carbon fiber trim on the doors, rear seat, steering wheel and gear lever and the desirable 6 speed manual transmission. According to Maserati North America, only 53 units of model year 2004 equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission arrived in the USA. Production ended in 2007.
Standard equipment includes xenon headlights, V8 fender badging, quadruple polished exhaust outlets, and 19-inch wheels. The 2+2 cabin is trimmed in light gray Pelle Frau leather by world-renowned Poltrona Frau, with matching lower dashboard, door panels and headliner. Other amenities include automatic climate control, power windows and locks, power and heated front seats memory settings.
Pelle Frau leather goes through a special 21 step tanning process in order to create the finest quality it is known for. The tanning treatment transforms the leather by increasing the suppleness and hardwearing qualities, making it more practical for the Maserati driver. The result is the leather is extremely soft and comforting in winter, and cool in the summer months. Poltrona Frau leather also ages well over time, creating a timeless aesthetic reflective of the Maserati investment model.
The three-spoke steering wheel is finished in Pelle Frau leather and carbon fiber, and frames a 200-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline. Instrumentations are outfitted by celebrated Swiss watchmaker Jaeger (of Jaeger-LeCoultre).
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Southern California since new. A recent PPI was done and repair work identified was done by Italy Service in Las Vegas prior to pick up. Other recent work includes new tires, tinted windows and powder coating the wheels black.
If you are looking for something different that looks great, sounds great and drives like a real GT this is one of the best ones out there. It is ready to drive and enjoy.
