This 1941 Stearman PT-17 was originally used as a primary military trainer aircraft for pilots during WW2. This Stearman was restored in 1979 back to its original two-tone Army air-corp colors and currently resides at Zamperini Field in Torrance, CA. Power is derived from the Continental R-670-5 radial engine putting out 220hp. The engine was overhauled in 1979 by Jack Lanning, the engine has had the rear STC roller bearing mod added, and this plane has a 50-gallon fuel tank. This Stearman’s standard airworthy Certificate is valid until November 30th of 2022 and the plane was last inspected in November of 2021. There is no damage history, and this plane is ADS-B compliant with a full electrical system, landing lights, electrical start, radios, intercom, and Redline disc brakes. This Stearman has a total of 4,295 hours on the airframe and 428 hours on the engine with 28.6 hours on the prop. This plane has been hangered in the owner’s hangar since 1987 and is routinely flown. Extensive parts are included in the sale along with all the logbooks.
